When the clock turns back four months for all of the Heroes, Nathan pays a terrible cost for his heroic actions. D.L. makes the ultimate sacrifice for Niki and Micah. Maya horrifically manifests her dark powers for the first time, driving her and Alejandro to America for help. A mysterious, yet familiar face is introduced.

Ali Summary
After the events at Kirby Plaza, Niki and Micah are informed that D.L.'s surgery was sucessful after he was shot. They go to see him and are thrilled he is doing so well, but Niki tells the doctor that she doesn't have insurance, and can't pay for D.L.'s surgery. The doctor assures her that everything is taken care of, thanks to Bob, who walks in. Bob then says to Niki that no mention of what happened at Kirby Plaza is in the papers at all. Bob then says that he has a cure for Niki a cure that will get rid of Jessica once and for all. He says in order for her to get the cure, she will have to leave her family and join the Company, however there is some medication that she can take, but will take a long time for her to be cured. One month after, it is Micah's birthday and Niki is taking medication to keep Jessica from coming back, but she reveals that she can barely crack a smile as she is so drained.
Niki pours her medication down the drain so she can get back to her old self. Another month has passed and Niki is feeling much better and has a job interview for car sales. Behind Niki, a voice tells her that she should have taken the pills. Niki is surprised by Jessica's return, but the voice tells her that she is not Jessica but Gina, who is actually an alias Niki used when she was living in Los Angeles. Gina then traps Niki in the mirror and leaves her behind so she can go party in Los Angeles. D.L returns home to find a message from Gina saying that she has gone to LA. Gina is seen doing drugs and dancing in a nightclub until D.L finally reaches her wherabouts and he shows Gina a picture of the family, meanwhile the thug partying with Gina gets annoyed and punches D.L. who phases and then punches the thug. Niki regains control and says she doesn't know where she is.
While walking out of the club, the thug comes back and shoots D.L. and blood goes all over Niki as she falls to the floor in shock. A few weeks later we see Nana Dawson, Monica, Damon and Micah at D.L.'s wake as Nana comforts Niki. Bob appears at the funeral and urges Niki to undergo the Company's treatment. In the present day, Niki is seen leaving the Company to go back home to Micah as she has learnt she is going to die.
