It has been one year since the tragic explosion of Flight 180. While going on vacation in Daytona Beach, Florida, Kimberly Corman, (A.J. Cook) traveling with her friend Shaina (Sarah Carter) and two other male friends, Dano Royale (Alex Rae) and Frankie Arnold (Shaun Sipos), has a terrifying vision of a horrific car pile-up. She causes outrage when she blocks the on ramp to the highway, but the signs prove true. The survivors, Eugene (T.C. Carson), Rory (Jonathon Cherry), Katherine (Keegan Connor Tracy), Nora (Lynda Boyd) and her son Tim (James Kirk) are all held up at the police station and Kim begins to tell everyone about her strange premonition.
They all leave, but one of the survivors dies mysteriously, Kim begins to suspect that her premonition is really something more. In a mental institution, she meets Clear Rivers, the sole survivor of Flight 180, who has had similar experience with premonition. She reluctantly accepts Kim's offer to help her spot the signs to keep her and the others alive, but the deaths have already begun.
A police officer who initially brought everybody in for questioning, Thomas Burke (Michael Landes), also offers his assistance in keeping everyone alive, but it becomes a race against time as everyone has scattered after dismissing the tales. The enigmatic mortician William Bludworth (Tony Todd) makes another appearance and provides more insight into the workings of Death involving the forces of balance.
• "This one capitalizes on the fact that everyone loves sitting on the edge of their seats and not knowing how people are going to die, and then laughing at it. I think they found what worked and brought it back 10-fold."
• "You get your gore and all that fun stuff, but you also walk out of the movie asking some deep questions."
Memorable Quotes
• William Bludworth: "Come to pick my brain?"
Clear Rivers: "Just a simple question and we'll leave you alone with your new friend."
• Clear Rivers: "Look, we drove a long way to get here, so if you happen to know how to stop Death, it would be really great if you told us."
William Bludworth: "You can't cheat Death. There are no escapes."
Clear Rivers: "Bullshit! You told me Death has a distinct design. But Alex and I cheated Death, not once but dozens of times. The design is flawed, it can be beaten."
William Bludworth: "Such fire in you now. People are always most alive just before they die. Don't you think?"
• Clear Rivers: "What the fuck are you thinking?"
Skate Rat: "I'm thinking sucka my junk, bee-atch!"

Critic Reviews
"Ali Larter is a fine performer and all, but when she's the big celebrity guest star of a movie, you know there's desperation in the air."
- UK Critic
"The wince-inducing gore will shock some and the premise unsettle others. After this, the only thing as inevitable as death, is another sequel."
- BBC
"Perhaps you can’t cheat death in Final Destination 2, but apparently you can kill originality."
- Apollo Guide
"The movie is a real jolter for horror fans who like the charge of gory images but also demand a certain level of intelligence in the proceedings."
- Los Angeles Times
